“Helping children who are, at the moment, fragile as butterflies.”
Children diagnosed with Epidermolysis Bullos (EB) are often referred to as “butterfly children,” because their skin is as delicate and fragile as butterfly wings. The chronic, painful, genetic skin disorder has no known cure and causes intense pain for those with the condition.
William Vinson is a beautiful five-year-old Butterfly Child. Despite his pain, he is a child full of joy and life. A smile is almost always found on his face as he lights up the lives of those around him. Such intrinsic joy is a true gift.
William’s aunt, Larina McClain is at Madison & Company’s Cherry Creek office. Two years ago she began Butterflies for Birdies, a golf tournament sponsored by Madison & Company Properties, benefiting the Butterfly Fund, which helps children with EB and other life-altering diseases.
This event is exactly one month away, and we are unbelievably excited to be part of contributing to research for a cure to this disease. Please join us! Sponsorship can happen on many different levels, and direct donations can be made at www.hopeforwilliam.com by clicking on the Birdies for Butterflies tab and following the links to the event ticket options or at www.thebutterflyfund.org.
The golf tournament will be held at Blackstone Country Club on September 14, from 1:00 p.m. to 9 p.m. when we will finish the evening with dinner, awards, and a silent auction. The day is sure to be full of fun and in the spirit of joyful William.
